Five Reasons To Check Dental Treatment In Turkey

People travel for dentistry when they can verify who will treat them, what is written down, what the fee includes, and who answers after they fly home. A well-known destination is not one of those reasons.

Dental treatment in Turkey is a journey you can check before you book it. The five reasons that are worth acting on are a named dentist, a written plan, a fee that lists what it includes, a person who answers after you fly home, and records you can show a dentist at home. A reputation, a beach, or a low headline does not stand in for those checks. The treatment itself still varies, and it is confirmed after an examination rather than from a photograph.

01

Five Checks Before You Book

A useful reason to travel is one you can test on paper. Ask for each of the five items below in writing. If a reply cannot name them, you do not yet have a plan to book flights around.

A Named Dentist

The plan should name the dentist who will examine you. If different people do the surgery and the teeth that go on top, the plan should name both. A clinic name alone does not tell you who is responsible for your mouth. You should be able to read that person’s role before you travel. At HCT, Prof. Dr. Müjde Sevimay is the head dentist and prosthodontist, and Dr. Aslı Ataseven is the maxillofacial surgeon. Their roles are on the HCT doctors page. This article is not a medical review signed by either of them.

A Written Plan

A written plan names the teeth involved, the number of visits the clinician expects, and what the examination can still change. It is a document you can read twice, not a sentence in a chat. Photographs sent from home can start that document. They do not finish it. The visit in the clinic is where the scan, the bite, and the gum are seen together.

What The Fee Includes

A fee is useful when it lists what you are paying for and what you are not. Hotel, flights, extra stages, and a change of material are the usual items that surprise people when they were never written down. Published HCT fees live on the HCT dental price list. This page does not copy those figures. Ask the plan to name the line it is using and to list the exclusions. The figure is confirmed after clinical assessment.

Who To Contact After You Fly Home

Before you leave the clinic, you should know who answers if something changes on the journey home. That means a name, or a clinic channel, written on the plan, not a promise that nothing will happen. The published routes are on the clinic contact page. A loose temporary tooth, bleeding that does not slow, swelling that increases, or a fever is a reason to call, rather than to wait for a routine review.

Records You Can Take Home

Ask for the records a dentist at home would need if they agree to see you. That usually means what was done, which teeth were treated, and copies of radiographs you are allowed to carry. A dentist at home did not plan the work, so they may review you and still decline to continue it. Agree that point with both sides before you travel, instead of discovering it after you land.

02

Before You Book Flights

Flights come after the five checks, not before them. A date that suits a holiday is not a clinical plan. Keep tickets changeable until the examination has confirmed what will actually be done.

A Message Is Not The Examination

A preliminary reply can say what looks possible from photographs and a medical history. It cannot see the bone, the bite, or decay under an old filling. Tell the clinic about medicines, pregnancy, and conditions that affect healing before you book. Pressure to pay, or to lock a date, before those facts are in the plan is a reason to pause.

The NHS checklist for treatment abroad asks people to base the decision on the care, not on how appealing the destination looks for a holiday. Warning signs it describes include a hard sell, a lack of information, pressure to decide quickly, no discussion of complications, and no mention of aftercare. Those signs apply here as questions you can ask. They are not a score for any one country.

Match The Published Address

The address on the written plan should be the same address the clinic publishes. HCT sees patients in Antalya and Istanbul. The streets are on the Antalya and Istanbul clinics page. A city name in a headline, including a resort you have already chosen, is not a clinic and not a plan.

Holiday Packages Sit Elsewhere

Hotel nights, transfers, and how a stay is arranged are package logistics. They belong on the dental holiday in Turkey page, and only when that offer actually includes them. This article does not set a number of nights, and it does not name a hotel. If a stay is part of your offer, the offer has to say so in writing. A stay written into one offer does not apply to every other treatment.

03

What Can Change At The Clinic

The examination can change the plan you were sent. That is a normal part of travelling for dentistry, not a failure of the first reply. Consent belongs after you have heard what changed.

Stages, Materials, And Teeth

The clinician may add a stage, change a material, or recommend that a tooth is treated differently from the photograph. A tooth you hoped to keep may need to come out. A tooth you expected to replace may be restorable. Neither result is something this page can promise from a description of your smile. Ask for the revised plan in writing before treatment starts, including any fee that was not in the first reply.

Complications Should Be Discussed

Every dental procedure has risks. Sensitivity, infection, a restoration that loosens, and a result that does not match the photograph are examples, not a full list for your mouth. If the conversation never mentions complications or aftercare, treat that silence as a missing check. The sources at the end of this page describe those questions in general. They do not choose your treatment, and they do not endorse HCT.

Flying Home

When you can fly is decided for your case after treatment, not by a fixed day on this page. Follow the written advice you are given, and check the airline’s own rules. A beach day, a tour, or a meal is not a sign that the mouth has healed. Plan those around the clinical instructions, not the other way round.

The HCT Team And Patient Reviews

HCT Dental Clinic sees patients in Antalya and Istanbul. A useful quote is the written plan plus the names on it. A single number in a message is not that quote.

Head Dentist And Prosthodontics

Prof. Dr. Müjde Sevimay leads the clinical team and plans prosthetic work. Dr. Aslı Ataseven is the maxillofacial surgeon. The plan for your visit should say which of them, or which other named clinician, will see you. This page is an editorial guide. It is not a record that a clinician has reviewed the article.

Questions Before You Book

What Are The Five Checks Before Dental Treatment In Turkey?

The five checks are a named dentist, a written plan, a fee that states what it includes, a person to contact after you fly home, and records you can show a dentist at home. A beach, a city name, or a low headline is not one of those checks.

Does A Famous Destination Mean The Clinic Is Suitable?

No. Being widely talked about is not one of the five checks. A clinic can still omit the dentist's name, the exclusions, or the follow-up. Publicity is not a treatment plan.

Who Should Be Named Before I Travel?

The plan should name the dentist who will examine you. If the work is split, it should also name who does any surgery and who fits the teeth. At HCT, Prof. Dr. Müjde Sevimay is the head dentist and prosthodontist, and Dr. Aslı Ataseven is the maxillofacial surgeon. This article is not a medical review by them.

What Should A Written Plan Include?

It should name the teeth involved, the visits, what the fee includes, what it excludes, and what the examination can still change. A single price in a message is not that plan.

Does This Article Set Hotel Nights?

No. This article does not set a number of nights or name a hotel. If a stay is part of an offer, that offer has to say so. Package logistics are on the dental holiday page.

Where Do I See What The Fee Includes?

Published fees are on the HCT price list. This page does not repeat those figures. Ask the plan to name the line it uses and to list what is not included. The figure is confirmed after clinical assessment.

Who Do I Contact After I Fly Home?

Use the name and the channel written on your plan. A loose temporary tooth, bleeding that does not slow, swelling that increases, or a fever needs a call to the clinic rather than a wait for a routine check.

Can A Dentist At Home Continue The Care?

A dentist at home can review you if they agree and if you bring the records. They did not plan the treatment, so they may decline to continue it. Agree, before you travel, who does the follow-up.

Can The Plan Change After I Arrive?

Yes. Photographs and a preliminary reply are not the examination. The visit can add a stage, change the material, or show that a tooth should be treated differently. Keep travel changeable until that is clear.

Is This Article A Medical Review?

No. It is an editorial guide from HCT Dental Clinic, updated on 9 October 2026. It is not a signed medical review, and it is not a personal treatment plan.

Medical Sources And References

These sources describe questions to ask before treatment abroad. They do not set HCT fees, choose a procedure, or endorse the clinic.

  1. NHS — Treatment Abroad ChecklistThe decision should rest on the care, not on how appealing the destination seems for a holiday. Warning signs include a hard sell, a lack of information, pressure to decide quickly, no discussion of complications, and no mention of aftercare. Check the qualifications of the team, and discuss transferring notes with a clinician at home.
  2. Oral Health Foundation — Going Abroad For Dental TreatmentAsk to be examined by a qualified dentist, for a clear plan and a full cost breakdown, and where that dentist is trained and registered. A headline cost does not always include everything. Follow-up after you return home can be difficult.

Ask For A Written Plan

Send photographs, a short medical history, and the names of medicines you take. Ask the reply to name the dentist, list what the fee includes and excludes, and say who you contact after you fly home. The examination in the clinic confirms the plan.
