What Training Should Match The Procedure

Ask which training covers the procedure on your plan. “Cosmetic dentist” describes a kind of work. It does not, by itself, tell you whether that person plans crowns and veneers, places implants, or both. A useful answer names the role and the part of the plan it covers.

Cosmetic Dentist Is A Description Of The Work

In the UK, the General Dental Council keeps specialist lists. Prosthodontics and oral surgery are on those lists. Cosmetic dentistry is not a title on the list. A dentist can still provide cosmetic treatment without being on a specialist list. The UK list is not the Turkish register. It is a plain example of the question to ask any clinic: what is the training behind the title on the website?

A card, an advert, or a social-media profile that only says “cosmetic dentist” has not answered that question. Ask for the area of practice in words a patient can repeat: prosthodontics for the teeth that are made, oral surgery when the plan includes a surgical procedure, or another named role. If more than one person is involved, the plan should say who does which part.

Restorative Work And Surgical Work

Veneers, crowns and the shape of a smile are restorative work. The planning question is how much tooth is prepared, which material is used, and how the bite will meet. Implant placement, a bone graft, a sinus lift and some extractions are surgical. Those steps need a clinician whose training covers surgery, and a scan, before anyone promises a date.

One dentist may be able to plan the teeth and also operate. Two dentists may split the plan. Either arrangement can be sound. The written document should still name the person for the restorative part and, when surgery is included, the person for the surgical part. A single brand name for the clinic is not that answer.

What A Training Answer Should Include

Ask three short questions. What is your role for this plan? Which part will you do yourself? Who else will see the records before treatment starts? An answer that names a person and a role is something you can compare. An answer that offers a ranking, a slogan, or a promise about every case is not a training answer.

What The Material Name Should Tell You

The plan should name the material before you compare a fee or book a flight. A ceramic for a veneer or a crown, and an implant system when an implant is included, are different lines. “High-quality porcelain” and “German material” are phrases. They are not names.

A Named Ceramic

Patients commonly see two ceramic families in cosmetic plans. Lithium disilicate, often under the trade name E-max, and zirconia are different materials. One can be the better fit for a front tooth in a particular mouth, and the other for a tooth that takes a heavier bite. That choice belongs in the plan after the teeth are examined. It is not a rule you can settle from a photograph of a smile.

How those two ceramics differ for veneers is set out on the page comparing zirconia and E-max. This page only asks you to require the name. A plan for you should still name the material for your teeth, rather than point at the brand page and stop.

A Phrase That Is Not A Material

Ask for the name you would expect to see on a laboratory sheet or a certificate. If the reply stays with “premium”, “original”, or “the same as celebrities use”, ask again. A famous patient, a shade of white, or a before-and-after photograph does not identify the ceramic. You can like the look of a result and still not know what was used.

A named material is also the record a dentist at home can read later. Maintenance, a chip, or a replacement is easier to discuss when the document says which ceramic or which system was used. A clinic that will not write the name down has left that question open.

When An Implant Is Part Of The Plan

If the cosmetic plan includes an implant, the system name belongs on the same document as the crown or bridge that will show. An implant-and-abutment line and a crown-inclusive line are different scopes. The brand page lists systems separately from the ceramics. Quoting one brand without saying whether the crown is included has not finished the materials question.

Who Reviews The Plan Before You Book

A named clinician should review the written plan before you book flights or pay a treatment deposit. The review means that person has looked at your records and the proposed work. A website that displays a dentist’s photograph is not that review.

What The Written Plan Contains

A plan you can use names the teeth involved, the procedure, the material or implant system, and the clinician who reviewed it. It says what is included in the fee and what would be a separate step, such as gum treatment or a graft, if the examination finds that need. It also says what can still change when you are in the chair and the scan or the teeth are seen directly.

UK advertising guidance for dental professionals says the patient is assessed, a medical history is taken, the options are explained, and consent is obtained before the work is carried out. That guidance does not regulate a clinic in Turkey. It is a clear standard for the question to ask: has someone with the right training looked at your case, and have the options been explained, before you are asked to book?

Who Reads It At HCT

Prof. Dr. Müjde Sevimay is a prosthodontist. Restorative plans, including veneers and crowns, sit with that training. Dr. Aslı Ataseven is a maxillofacial surgeon. When the plan includes surgery, that part needs a surgical review. Ask the reply to say which of them, or which other named clinician, has reviewed your records. Their names here do not mean either of them has reviewed your case.

When The Reply Names Nobody

If the message offers a price, a date and a hotel, and does not name the clinician who reviewed the plan, the review has not happened in a way you can check. Ask again for the name and the role. Book refundable travel until that answer is in writing. A coordinator can explain the visit. The coordinator’s message is not a substitute for the clinician’s review.

Confirm The Dentist’s Role Before Booking

Ask who assesses the proposed procedure, who carries it out and who reviews the final restoration. If different people are involved, ask how responsibility and changes to the plan are explained. Request clarification of relevant training or credentials rather than relying on a general marketing title.
