Dental Implant Aftercare In Turkey
Dental implant aftercare in Turkey is the written plan for the first days, the soft diet, daily cleaning and the checks before final teeth. Swelling and bruising are common and are not the finished result. Final teeth are often fitted about 3–6 months later, after the clinician has checked healing. After implant surgery you leave with a written plan for medicines, food, cleaning and the signs that need a call. The first two days are about protecting the clot. The following weeks are about soft food and gentle cleaning. The months before the second visit are about letting the implant bond to the bone, then keeping the gum healthy once the teeth are fitted. A single implant, an All-on-4 bridge and an All-on-6 bridge share that sequence. The discharge note for your operation is the one you follow.

The First Days After Surgery
On the day of surgery the usual HCT plan is to rest with your head raised, keep the gauze as shown, and leave the wound alone. The area may still be numb from the local anaesthetic. Bleeding that stains the gauze is common. Rinsing, spitting or drinking through a straw can disturb the clot, so those are avoided until the plan says otherwise.

Cold Packs, Medicines And The Written Plan
A cold pack on the cheek, on for a short interval and off for a short interval, can limit early swelling. Do not put ice directly on the skin. Take prescribed pain relief and any antibiotic exactly as written, including the course length. On the published All-on-4 and All-on-6 full mouth packages, prescribed medicines are included. A single implant or another plan lists its medicines in its own quote. Do not add medicines from home without asking, including aspirin, which can increase bleeding.
Swelling that changes the shape of the cheek, and bruising that spreads towards the neck, can look severe in a photograph. That appearance in the first week is not a before-and-after of the final teeth. The finished restoration is assessed at the later visit, after the gum and the bite have been checked.

Food, Cleaning And Stitches
What you eat, and how you clean, is the part of aftercare you repeat every day. The first meals are soft and cool. Cleaning starts around the wound, then moves to the implant once the clinic has shown you the brush. Stitches, if they were used, stay in place until they dissolve or the clinic removes them.

Drink water. Skip the straw. If you smoke, the written plan will ask you to stop for the healing period: smoking is associated with slower healing and with problems around implants later. A general article cannot clear a particular meal. If chewing hurts, go back to softer food and tell the clinic.
How To Clean Dental Implants
On the evening of surgery, brush the other teeth if the plan allows, and keep the brush off the fresh wound. From the next day a salt hold is often started: about half a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water, held in the mouth and then allowed to fall out. That is not a vigorous rinse. Once the clinician demonstrates it, clean around the implant every day with a soft brush and the interdental brush or floss they recommend. Fluoride toothpaste is suitable unless you were told otherwise. Keep the hygiene visits. Plaque left at the gum line is how peri-implantitis starts.
Cleaning An All-On-4 Or All-On-6 Bridge
A fixed bridge stays in the mouth. Clean along the gum line and under the bridge with the soft brush and the interdental brush or floss threader you were shown. Many people are back at a desk within a few days. A physical job, and the day you restart exercise, are set in the discharge note, not by a single timetable for every bridge.
Stitches After Implant Surgery
Some sites are closed with stitches and some are not. The number depends on the operation. Dissolving stitches can take one to two weeks to fall away. Others are removed at a visit the clinic names. Do not cut or pull them. Food caught on a stitch can often be loosened with the salt hold. If a stitch comes away early and the gum opens, or if bleeding restarts, contact the clinic rather than replacing anything yourself.

Healing Time And Exercise
Early healing of the gum is measured in days. The implant bonding to the bone, called osseointegration, is measured in months. How a dental implant stays in the bone explains that process. At HCT the provisional gap before final teeth is often about 3–6 months, and the clinician confirms the date after checking your case. A temporary tooth fitted sooner is not the same as completed healing.
Exercise And Returning To Work
Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, bending and swimming for the first few days. They can increase bleeding and swelling. Walking is usually acceptable. Desk work is often possible within a few days if pain relief is controlling soreness and you are not drowsy from medicines. A job with lifting, or contact sport, needs a longer pause. The note you are given sets that day for a single implant and for a full-arch bridge.
How Long To Stay In Turkey
The months between surgery and final teeth are spent at home, not in a hotel. Package nights cover the clinic appointments on each visit. They are not the healing gap. The length of each stay depends on your appointments and on whether the clinic has cleared you to fly. Airline rules after dental treatment are yours to check. The Second Visit
The second visit is for records, the bite and the final teeth, once healing has been assessed. Clean the temporary teeth as shown during the gap, and contact the clinic if a temporary crown or bridge loosens. Do not glue it back with a shop adhesive. Missed checks during those months are a common reason a small gum problem becomes a larger one.

How Long Dental Implants Last
With daily cleaning and regular dental checks, implants can last many years. There is no lifetime guarantee. The Oral Health Foundation states that implants which are well looked after often last a very long time, and that there is no lifetime guarantee. Plaque around an implant can cause peri-implantitis. That can show as red, sore or bleeding gums, infection, and loosening or loss of the implant.
What Shortens The Life Of The Restoration
Smoking, untreated gum disease, grinding, a bite that was never adjusted, and missed hygiene visits are the factors patients can influence. A ceramic tooth can chip. A screw can loosen. Those are maintenance events, not proof that every implant fails, and not proof that none ever will. An implant guarantee certificate, where one is issued, sets the terms of that certificate. It is not a promise that the teeth never need a repair or a new check.
Care After The Final Teeth Are Fitted
Brush twice a day, clean between the implants or under the bridge every day, and see a dentist and hygienist on the interval they set. Tell them you have implants. A fixed bridge still collects plaque. If the gum bleeds every time you clean, book a check rather than avoiding the area. Night guards are considered when grinding is wearing the teeth. They are prescribed for that patient, not added to every plan.

When To Call The Clinic
Call if pain is increasing after it had started to settle, if swelling is getting worse after the third day, if you have fever, pus, bleeding you cannot control with gauze, or a tooth or implant that feels loose. Numbness that is still present the next day, beyond the expected local anaesthetic, should also be reported. Do not try to tighten a bridge, and do not start a second antibiotic from a previous prescription.
Expected In The First Week
Oozing on the first day, swelling that peaks around day two or three, bruising, and a dull ache controlled by the prescribed pain relief. A slight bad taste can follow trapped food and often improves with the salt hold.
Needs A Call
Pain that is rising, swelling that is spreading or affecting swallowing or breathing, persistent bleeding, a loose temporary tooth, or an opening in the gum. Care After You Fly Home
You take the written plan, the medicine list and the clinic’s contact with you. A dentist at home can examine the gum, take a routine X-ray when one is due, and clean around the implants. The HCT coordinator is the contact for the surgical plan and for questions about the temporary teeth. A dentist in the UK is not automatically included in the clinic fee.
