What Straumann Implant Lines Cover At HCT

The Published Straumann Lines

A Straumann fee at HCT is a unit line. It names the implant and the abutment. It becomes a tooth only when the crown is quoted as well, and it becomes a full arch only when the clinic writes a full-arch total after the scan. Multiplying £630 or £730 by the number of implants does not produce that total.

Pure Ceramic and the zygomatic line are Straumann as well, and they are not the same product as these two titanium lines. They sit in the table so a quote can be matched to a row. A proposal that says only “Straumann” has not yet said which row it is using.

What Each Line Includes

BLT at £630 and BLX at £730 include the implant and abutment. Pure Ceramic at £880 is the ceramic implant line; confirm its component scope in the written quote. Straumann zygomatic is £2,780 per implant, and that line includes the abutment too. Consultation, a 3D CT or CBCT, and a panoramic radiograph are free for HCT implant patients. The scan is how the team decides whether any of these lines is the right one.

What Sits Outside The Line

The crown is outside every Straumann row above. The £560 single dental implant is the price-list line that already includes an abutment and a crown, and it is not a Straumann promise. Bone grafting is £130 when the site needs it. A sinus lift is £380 when an upper back site needs it. A simple extraction is £30 and a surgical extraction is £100. IV sedation is £230 a session if you and the surgeon agree to use it. Hotel nights, airport transfers and flights are outside these unit lines.

The All-on-4 and All-on-6 totals also include a defined set of teeth, medicines, temporary teeth and travel services. Those inclusions belong to the Neodent or Osstem packages. They do not transfer onto a Straumann unit line. What those packages contain is set out on the full mouth implant packages page.

What Each Straumann System Is

The brand name covers more than one implant. BLT, BLX, Pure Ceramic and the zygomatic line solve different planning problems. A quote should use the name of the line, the fee, and whether a crown or a bridge is included. A brochure photograph does not do that.

BLT And BLX

BLT is Straumann’s bone-level tapered implant. At HCT the published line is £630 for the implant and the abutment. BLX is a later tapered Straumann implant, shaped for primary stability, including when the bone is softer. The published BLX line is £730 for the implant and the abutment. Product sheets describe surface treatments that are meant to support contact with bone. Those sheets do not set a healing date for your case, and they do not add the crown.

The £630 figure is also the published implant-and-abutment fee for Nobel Biocare, and for two other non-Straumann lines. Seeing £630 on a message is not proof that the implant is BLT. Ask the reply to name the system. The surgeon still has to match that system to the bone, the bite and the restoration after the scan.

Pure Ceramic

Straumann Pure Ceramic is a ceramic fixture rather than a titanium one. HCT lists the ceramic implant line at £880. The manufacturer offers different ceramic designs, including a monotype with an integrated abutment; ask which design and components the quote names. Patients sometimes ask for it because they want a metal-free implant. The tooth you see is still a crown, and that crown is quoted separately. A zirconia crown on a titanium implant is a different object from a ceramic implant. Pure Ceramic is also not a ceramic version of the £560 crown-inclusive tooth.

The Zygomatic Line

A zygomatic implant is longer than a conventional implant and can engage the cheekbone when the upper jaw does not have enough bone for ordinary fixtures. The Straumann zygomatic line is £2,780 per implant, including the abutment. That is the fee for one implant. It is not a finished upper jaw, and it is not an All-on-4 or All-on-6 total. Who A Straumann Implant May Suit

Suitability is the bone, the gum, the bite and the medical history. It is not a preference for a Swiss name on its own. Most adults who are missing a tooth, or who need a fixed bridge on several implants, can be assessed. The assessment can still end with a different system, a graft, or a decision to wait.

Bone, The Sinus And A Graft

If the jaw at the site is too narrow or too short, the surgeon may recommend a bone graft before the implant. The published graft fee is £130. Healing after a graft can mean the implant is placed later, not on the same day. An upper back tooth sits under the maxillary sinus. When that bone is too short, a sinus lift at £380 may be part of the plan. Neither fee is already inside a Straumann unit line. A jaw that cannot hold conventional implants in the upper bone is the situation in which a zygomatic plan is even discussed, and that plan is priced per implant, then confirmed in writing.

Smoking And Other Healing Factors

Smoking is associated with a higher chance of healing problems around implants. It does not automatically exclude you, and a particular surface is not a reason to expect the same course as a non-smoker. Uncontrolled diabetes and some medicines also change the assessment. Tell the team before you book flights. The papers at the end of this page describe those factors in general. They do not choose a Straumann line, and they do not set the HCT fee.

Visits, The Crown And The Healing Gap

A single Straumann implant usually follows two visits. The first is assessment and placement. The second is the crown, after the clinician is satisfied the implant can be restored. The gap is often about 3 to 6 months. That range is a typical healing window, not a date the clinic can stamp on every case. The crown visit is not included in the BLT, BLX or Pure Ceramic line.

Before You Travel

A preliminary reply from photographs is not the final plan. The free scan can change the line from BLT to BLX, add a graft, or show that Straumann is not the system for that site. Book refundable travel until the written plan names the system, the crown or bridge, and any graft. Hotel nights and flights are not in the unit fee. The First Visit

The surgeon examines the site, the bite and the scan, then confirms the system and the anaesthetic. Placement is one surgical appointment. This page does not promise a fixed number of minutes, because a straightforward site and a site that also needs an extraction are not the same operation. Local anaesthetic is the usual approach. Sedation is a separate choice at the published session fee.

A temporary tooth on the day is possible only when the implant is stable and the bite allows it. That temporary is not the final crown. If stability is not there, the gap stays without a fixed tooth until the crown visit, or a removable temporary is used. Leaving with a finished ceramic crown on the day of surgery is not the published plan for these lines.

A Full Arch On Straumann

Some patients want every implant in a fixed bridge to be Straumann. HCT can quote that after the scan. The quote has to state how many implants, which line, how many teeth, and which visit the teeth are fitted on. It is a new total. It is not eight times £630, and it is not the £5,980 or £6,480 package with the brand name swapped. Those published packages remain Neodent or Osstem.

The Crown Visit

The crown visit is records, a try-in when needed, and fitting. The bite is checked so the new tooth does not hit early. On a front tooth the colour is checked against the neighbours in daylight, not only under the surgery lamp. You should leave knowing how to clean the margin and whom to contact if the crown feels high or loose. Ask for the documentation of the implant that was placed, including the system name.

Recovery, Risks And Aftercare

Expect soreness, swelling and some bruising for a few days after placement. That is the usual early course. It is not a sign that the implant has failed, and it is not a promise that the appointment will feel like a cleaning. Pain is managed with the local anaesthetic during surgery and with the medicines the surgeon prescribes afterwards.

The First Days

The Straumann system name does not change your first-day instructions. Rest after placement, use soft food and keep pressure off the new fixture until the surgeon permits chewing on it. A temporary crown is still subject to that limit. Take prescribed medicines as directed, avoid smoking and follow the cleaning method on your discharge sheet. Contact the clinic if bleeding does not slow, swelling keeps increasing or you develop a fever; a particular surface or brand is not a reason to ignore those changes.

Risks To Discuss

An implant can fail to bond, the gum can become inflamed, and a crown can chip or loosen. Nerves in the lower jaw can be irritated if the site is close to them. The scan is how that risk is judged before surgery. An upper back implant sits near the sinus, which is why a short bone is assessed for a lift rather than forced. A zygomatic implant has its own surgical risks because it is longer and follows a different path. Infection is a risk you should hear about before you consent, including when the site is kept clean and the medicines are taken as directed.

Published studies describe groups of patients. They do not give you a personal percentage, and HCT does not print one on this page. A written lifetime certificate, where a plan includes one, is a document about the implant component. It is not a promise that the crown, the gum or the bite will never need attention. The certificate included with the All-on-4 and All-on-6 packages applies to the implants in those packages. It does not turn a Straumann unit line into that package.

Care At Home

Clean the tooth as you were shown. A single crown still collects plaque at the gum, and a full-arch bridge still needs cleaning under the teeth.
